Veteran’s Day Salute & Cake Walk

Written By: Feng V - Nov• 20•15

At morning assembly on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, the entire school honored our Veterans with prayer and the singing of America the Beautiful.  It was a wonderful way to begin the day by recognizing all the brave men and women who have served our country.  Many thanks to Mrs. Landis and Mrs. Hoppe for providing the music for this special occasion.  Students wrote letters of gratitude which were sent to the soldiers.

Mrs. O’Melveny and Mrs. Ivey, PSA Catholic Programs Co-chairs, were instrumental in coordinating this memorable day for our school.  The Student Council sponsored a Cake Walk where students could buy raffle tickets to win a sweet treat.  Over $1,000 was raised and sent to the Wounded Warriors Program.  Thank you Student Council.

“Our Lady Queen of Angels Culturing Thoughts, Words, Actions, and Character !”
Spearheaded by Enrichment Co-Chairs Trina Saeedi and Vivian Roe, this year’s program will encompass developing our students into well rounded leaders of the future.
We will kick off Red Ribbon Week with ZUMBA led by a team of specialists who will focus on mind, body, spirit, and nutrition in a fun-filled high energy experience.
Our Pumpkins, Poems, and Pageantry of Halloween Art will allow the kids to display their creative visions in art form.
Our 2nd trimester Enrichment will be Gizmo Guys -Object in MotionPerforming as the Gizmo Guys, Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker have amazed and amused audiences around the world. Sure, they’ve made numerous television appearances, won international juggling competitions, and taught at top circus schools , but what makes their act so appealing is their uniquely winning combination of dazzling technique and infectious humor. The performance contains elements which link juggling, math and science. Other obvious links with curriculum include theater, physical education, music and teamwork/cooperation. The Gizmo Guys’ rapid-fire act exhilarates and inspires sidesplitting laughter in audience members of all ages.
We will finish out the year out with the Popappella show exploring teamwork through the incredible versatility of the human voice by VYBRATION. Thrilling vocals, exquisite harmonies and energizing vocal percussion combine in a vibrant program featuring some of California’s most talented and dynamic a cappella performers.
