On October 15th, our school participated in the Great California ShakeOut for earthquake preparedness. Everyone practiced how to drop, cover, and hold on. Our teachers discussed the importance of earthquake preparedness with our students. This was our chance to practice what to do during an earthquake to reduce injury. To date, more than 10.5 million people have participated in this annual opportunity to practice how to be safer during an earthquake.
Earthquake preparedness is a responsibility of all Californians and we encourage you to discuss earthquake readiness with your child and others at home to take steps to get prepared.
Many thanks to Coach Mercer for our Disaster Procedures and to all our teachers and staff for an exemplary earthquake drill. The staff team was pleased to work with members of our school safety committee who helped practice parent pick up in an emergency situation. Last, but never least, a big bravo to all of our students who were outstanding during the earthquake drill.
