The month of May is dedicated to Mary, Our Blessed Mother. The Catholic Church reminds us to think and to speak in a special way to Our Blessed Mother during May. The month of May is a spiritual invitation for us to open our hearts to Mary. It is also the time of year that our 2nd grade students do their First Holy Communion.
A very special tradition at OLQA is our May Crowning. Our wonderful Student Council are the leaders at this special celebration where we honor and crown Mary. Our second graders wore their First Communion attire in honor of Mary. Students of all grades bring fresh cut flowers to their classrooms in the morning and the flowers are put into arrangements for the May Crowning. The students crown our Blessed Mother immediately following Mass. It’s a perfect occasion – not to be missed!
