The Dancing Scientist

The Dancing Scientist (aka: Jeffrey Vinokur) came to OLQA on Tuesday, November 4th. His 50-min stage show called “So You Think You Can Do Science” has been performed at the Smithsonian Institute, World Science Festival, USA Science & Engineering Festival, and over 250 presentations at K-12 schools coast-to-coast. The show combines ‘wow’ science demonstrations, with hip hop music, a student competition, and a few jaw-dropping dance moves. Jeffrey Vinokur, 23, has an M.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA, and specializes in demonstrating and explaining science through inspirational school shows and television. With 20+ million YouTube views, he has a contagious passion for science and a talent for teaching. Vinokur is currently conducting his PhD research at UCLA, and frequently travels to schools nationwide.  The students enjoyed some science fun while learning and here are some scenes:
